In de architectuur is het archiefsysteem geen object of zelfstandig digitaal systeem maar een generieke functie die op alle processen van toepassing is.

Cititizens are entitled to know in a democracy, what is done in their name for their benefit and with their money.

Een gegeven is archiefwaardig wanneer het op basis van criteria geschikt is als archiefstuk in het archiefsysteem opgenomen te worden.
